Feeding education one child at a time.

Sponsor a child in our parish for only $20/month.

8,000+ Students

Over 8,000 children in our parish alone suffer from food insecurity on weekends and school holidays.

Real people solving real problems

Statistics are just numbers on a page. SWLA educators, principals, and staff confirmed that the need for food for students in our area is real and it is a problem we can solve.

Simple and discreet

Through Food For Thought, students experiencing food insecurity at home will have access to pre-packaged food or food pantries that they can discreetly bring home for those days they do not receive meals through a school.

The need is real and it’s here…

Statewide, an average of 25% of students go home from school on Fridays without food to hold them over until they receive their next meal from school. In our parish, that average is closer to 30%. Food For Thought is the bridge between the community and students experiencing food insecurity.

Community efforts can end weekend hunger for students.

Through community and church donations, children will receive a bag of non-perishable foods that will fit easily into backpacks, and older students will have access to a stocked food pantry to shop from for the weekend. Because of generous partners like you, students will no longer wonder where food will come from when they are not in school.

Let’s feed education, together.
